What are some of the organized sport activities I can enjoy with my dog?

Dogs are sporting animals. Beyond chasing balls and retrieving sticks, owners can team up with their pets in a variety of organized sports, from obedience competitions to dancing. Yes, dancing.

Obedience competitions test a dog’s agility. Master and fido team up together for tests that include hand signals, coming to heel, and scenting. Then there’s doggie dancing. It’s new to the canine sporting world. Owner and pet work out a routine to music, sometimes with costumes. For the less adventurous, there are flying disc competitions and flying ball games for teams of dogs.
